Assistance for Children and Adolescents

We provide Health Promotion through a comprehensive, home-based program of health and social services, parent education, and support for healthy development of all family members in low income families that include a pregnant women, an infant, and/or a toddler.

Our Prevention services include the following three programs:

  • Weekly In-School Consultation to students and staff in all Somerville public schools, grades kindergarten through high school, including the alternative middle school (Next Wave) and high school (Full Circle).  We also provide consultation to preschool centers throughout Somerville and to Head Start classes in Somerville and Cambridge.
  • Our Homelessness Prevention Program provides extensive outreach to assist families as well as individuals who are at high risk of becoming homeless so they can stabilize their housing.
  • Our Suicide Prevention Program offers a variety of ways in which family members who have lost a loved one to suicide can become less isolated and overwhelmed by their loss.

For over four decades, we have been developing a wide range of Clinical Services including comprehensive assessment and multiple forms of treatment of children and adolescents who have mental health and/or substance abuse problems.

Each of our Health Promotion, Prevention, and Clinical Services is described under Programs and Services.
