Assistance for the Family Our Early Head Start program provides a comprehensive, home-based approach to promoting healthy development of everyone in the family, and is tailored for Somerville families that are low income and have a pregnant woman, an infant, and/or a toddler. Our Homelessness Prevention program provides outreach, case management, and some cash assistance for families and individuals who are at risk of losing their housing due in part to behavioral problems. Our Suicide Prevention program provides opportunities for family members who have lost a loved one to suicide or drug overdose to meet with other people who have been struggling with similar experiences of loss so they can become less isolated with their pain and feelings of helplessness. We provide a wide range of Clinical Services, including assessment and treatment of family problems, as well as assistance to children, adolescents, and parents who are distressed by their own or other family members’ feelings, thoughts, or behavior. Counseling and family therapy is tailored to a family’s particular needs to change frustrating patterns of communication and conflict among family members.
